The AJA IPT-10G2-SDI is a robust video and audio encoder designed to bridge traditional 3G-SDI sources into modern SMPTE ST 2110 IP networks. It supports baseband video and up to 16 embedded audio channels, formatting them for 10 GigE output. This converter is essential for facilities transitioning to IP-based workflows without replacing existing SDI cameras, routers, or edit suites.
Redundancy and Reliability
Equipped with dual 10 GigE SFP+ cages, the IPT-10G2-SDI supports ST 2022-7 hitless switching. This provides critical redundancy by transmitting identical streams over two separate paths, ensuring uninterrupted signal delivery even if one link fails. Its rugged, fanless design makes it suitable for quiet studio environments and demanding on-set locations.
Flexible Audio and Control
Beyond embedded SDI audio, the unit features dual RCA inputs for integrating analog stereo audio into the IP stream. Control is handled via a dedicated GigE LAN port using a web browser or REST clients. It also supports NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for seamless discovery and registration within IP broadcast environments.
