The ARRI Ultra Wide Zoom UWZ 9.5-18/T2.9 is a pioneering optic for the professional cine market. With a 34.5 mm image circle, it is purpose-built for large-sensor digital cameras, utilizing patented technologies to eliminate common wide-angle zoom artifacts.

Elite Optical Performance

The telecentric design of the UWZ provides image quality that matches or exceeds high-end wide-angle primes. This versatility allows cinematographers to replace a full range of primes with a single, high-performance zoom. Distortion is exceptionally controlled, staying below 1% at 9.5 mm and 0.1% at 18 mm, ensuring architectural lines remain perfectly straight.

VFX and Post-Production Ready

Optimized for visual effects and plate shots, the UWZ includes the ARRI Lens Data System (LDS). This system transmits frame-accurate metadata for zoom, focus, and aperture, significantly reducing time spent in post-production. Additionally, new multilayer coatings ensure flare and veiling glare are kept to an absolute minimum, even in challenging lighting.
