The ARRI Signature Prime 280mm T2.8 is a pinnacle of large-format cinematography, designed to accompany the ALEXA LF and ALEXA Mini LF. While providing state-of-the-art optical precision, this lens is engineered to produce organic, emotionally resonant images. It texturizes the large format with natural skin tones and a creamy bokeh that gives subjects a heightened presence within the frame.
Advanced Magnesium Construction and LDS-2
The Signature Prime series is the first to utilize machined magnesium lens barrels. This innovation makes the 280mm lens exceptionally lightweight yet robust enough for the rigors of professional production. It also features the LDS-2 Lens Data System, which utilizes absolute encoders and high data rates for near-instant initialization and comprehensive metadata capture.
The LPL Mount Standard
Equipped with the LPL (Large Positive Locking) mount, this lens benefits from a wider diameter and shorter flange focal depth. This design allows for a fast T2.8 stop and superior bokeh characteristics that were previously unattainable with the traditional PL mount. The LPL mount is an open standard, ensuring compatibility across a wide range of cameras including the ALEXA 65, ALEXA LF, and AMIRA via dedicated mounts.
