Atomos Shogun AV-19

The Atomos Shogun AV-19 is a 19-inch 4K HDR monitor-recorder-switcher designed for live production, broadcast, video village, control rooms and on-set monitoring.

Its 7RU rack-mountable design and 3840 x 2160 touchscreen display make it a practical production monitor for studio racks, outside broadcast setups and compact control-room environments. The 1200nit panel supports wide colour monitoring with 99% DCI-P3 coverage.

Shogun AV-19 can record Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW and Avid DNx from SDI or HDMI sources to CFexpress Type B media or certified external USB-C storage. It supports RAW recording up to 8Kp30 via SDI, 6Kp60 via SDI and 4Kp60 DCI / UHD workflows.

For multi-camera production, the unit can record up to four isolated camera feeds plus a fifth program output. It also supports live monitoring, switching and routing, making it useful for events, production review, video village and fast turnaround workflows where one screen apparently has to run half the show.

Connectivity includes 2x 12G-SDI inputs, 2x 3G-SDI inputs, 1x 12G-SDI output and HDMI 2.0 input/output up to 4K60p. An RJ45 Ethernet port enables IP workflows, including NDI HX3 transmit and receive over a standard network cable.

Professional monitoring tools include EL Zone false colour, ARRI False Color, focus peaking, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, zebras, zoom, frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers and anamorphic de-squeeze. Custom 3D/1D LUTs can be loaded as .cube files for real-time monitoring and look preview.

The front panel includes six assignable function buttons, giving quick access to frequently used tools such as LUTs, monitoring modes, playback and de-squeeze functions.

Camera control is available for many Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, plus Z CAM E2 series models with the required cable. Supported controls include white balance, aperture, shutter speed or angle and ISO.

Audio support includes two balanced XLR inputs with selectable 48V phantom power, two balanced XLR outputs, embedded HDMI/SDI audio, a mono confidence speaker and a 3.5mm headphone output. The unit supports 24-bit / 48kHz PCM audio, gain controls, meters and per-channel delay adjustment.

The Shogun AV-19 measures 482 x 310 x 60mm, weighs 5.22kg and uses an aluminium body with ABS plastic and active fan cooling. Power is supplied through a 4-pin XLR DC input, with support for single battery operation through a dedicated 4-pin XLR battery input.
