What is the difference between the dongle and license key versions, and which should I choose?

There are two activation methods for DaVinci Resolve Studio: a USB dongle or a license key. Both unlock the same features, but activation differs.

Dongle version:

• Physical USB stick that must stay plugged in
• No internet connection required
• Works on one system at a time
• Disadvantages: can break, be lost, or stick out of your laptop, takes a USB port

License key version:

• Digital activation code, no hardware needed
• Use on two computers simultaneously
• Easy to transfer between systems
• Online activation tied to your installation
