Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine Lens - Sony E product description
The Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 Zero-D S35 Cine Lens is the widest rectilinear prime lens currently available for the Super35 market. Specifically designed for Sony E-mount cameras, it delivers an expansive 123-degree angle of view, making it an essential tool for capturing vast landscapes, tight interiors, and immersive architectural shots.
Unmatched Optical Precision with Zero-Distortion
As part of the Laowa Zero-D series, this lens is engineered to produce high-quality images with minimal chromatic aberration and near-zero distortion. This optical excellence ensures that straight lines remain perfectly straight, significantly reducing the time required for post-production correction. The optical construction features 16 elements in 10 groups, including two ED and two aspherical glass elements for maximum sharpness.
Versatile Low-Light Performance
With a fast T2.9 aperture, filmmakers can confidently shoot in challenging low-light environments while maintaining complete control over depth of field. The lens also features a short minimum focusing distance of 25cm (9.84 inches), allowing for dramatic close-up shots with a pleasing background bokeh effect that separates the subject from the environment.
Compact Design for Modern Filmmaking
Weighing less than 1.4 lbs (610g) and measuring just 3.17 inches in length, the Laowa 7.5mm T2.9 is exceptionally portable. Its compact form factor makes it an ideal choice for use on handheld gimbals, drones, and other stabilization systems. Unlike many ultra-wide lenses, it features a non-dome-shaped front element, allowing for the direct use of 77mm screw-in filters without the need for bulky matte boxes.
Professional Cine Features
- Industry-standard 0.8 mod gears on both the aperture and focus rings for compatibility with follow-focus systems.
- Stepless aperture ring provides smooth, silent iris transitions during filming.
- Dual scale markings printed on the lens body for precise adjustments in any environment.
- Durable cine housing built to withstand the rigors of professional production environments.
