Bespoke Power Solution for Canon C400
The Minifab VMP400 is the only battery plate designed from the ground up specifically for the Canon C400. Unlike generic, retro-fitted plates, this bespoke solution offers a perfect fit with the smallest possible footprint, ensuring no buttons or I/O ports are obscured on the back of the camera.
Advanced Power Management
Equipped with two independently-fused auxiliary outputs (up to 5A each), the plate provides reliable power for monitors, wireless transmitters, and follow-focus motors. The intelligent fuses automatically reset once an overcurrent issue is resolved, eliminating the need for spare fuses. The DTap connectors feature shorter power pins to ensure accessories remain grounded during connection and disconnection.
Modular and Reversible Connectors
Adapt your rig to any cable configuration. Both auxiliary outputs are fully reversible; simply unscrew the captive 1.5mm hex screws and rotate the connector 180 degrees. For even more flexibility, the DTaps can be swapped for optional 2-pin LEMO connectors to suit your specific kit requirements.
Streamlined Cinema Build
- Recessed Outputs: Slide your top handle off with ease without needing to remove the battery plate.
- Low Profile XLR: The connector and cable are positioned to avoid blocking the camera's audio XLR ports.
- Hotswap Support: Keep the C400 powered during battery changes when using a Canon BP-A30 or BP-A30N battery.
- Low Mode: Mount the plate on lower screw holes for an ultra-compact setup when not using internal batteries.

Machined from high-grade aluminium and secured with stainless steel hardware, the VMP400 is both lightweight (under 200g) and durable. Every unit is hand-soldered and tested in Manchester, UK, using genuine premium components from IDX and LEMO.
Future-Proof and Backwards Compatible
The VMP400 is backwards compatible with the Canon C300 MKIII and C500 MKII. It can be mounted directly or used with the Vertical Offset Plate (VOP) to maintain hotswap functionality across different camera generations. Additionally, the front plate can be swapped in seconds using a conversion kit to switch between V-mount and Gold mount systems.
