The Porta Brace POL-F55 Polar Bear Camera Cover is engineered specifically to keep the Sony PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 operational in extreme arctic conditions. Constructed with a rugged black nylon exterior and thick high-loft insulation, this case provides a thermal barrier against the elements. The interior is lined with a specialized phase-change material (PCM) that stabilizes the temperature by trapping warm air within the camera chamber.
Tested for Extreme Environments
Designed for the most demanding shoots, Porta Brace Polar Covers have been tested to perform at temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit. For added warmth, the interior features Touch Fastener strips to secure optional air-activated heat packs. The POL-F55 is versatile enough for use with either a matte box or a standard lens setup.
Functional Design and Accessibility
The case includes an attached insulated lens cover to prevent condensation when moving between temperature extremes. Operators benefit from two-hand openings and a viewfinder port, all equipped with insulated cotton cuffs to maintain hand warmth. Three sets of heavy-duty zippers ensure easy installation, while the snug bottom zipper allows for seamless use on a tripod plate without compromising the thermal seal.
