The Porta Brace POL-FX9XL Polar Bear Insulated Case is engineered to keep the Sony FX9, equipped with the XDCA extension and battery, fully operational in freezing environments. Constructed with a rugged black nylon exterior and thick high-loft insulation, this case is a necessity for extreme climate cinematography. The interior features a specialized phase-change material (PCM) that stabilizes the temperature by trapping warm air within the camera chamber.

Advanced Thermal Management

For operation in the harshest conditions, the POL-FX9XL has been tested to perform at temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The interior is lined with touch-fastener strips designed to hold optional air-activated hand warmers, such as Portabrace Polar Heat Packs, to maintain internal heat. To protect the optics, an attached insulated lens cover prevents condensation from forming when transitioning the equipment from the cold outdoors to warm interior spaces.
