Portkeys HS8 product description
Professional 8-Inch Monitoring for Demanding Sets
The Portkeys HS8 is a high-performance 8-inch director monitor designed to bridge the gap between portability and screen real estate. Built with a rugged all-aluminum housing and featuring a removable protective glass, the HS8 is engineered to withstand the rigors of professional film sets while weighing just 675g.
Daylight Viewable 10-Bit Panel
Equipped with a 1920 x 1200 resolution display, the HS8 delivers stunning clarity and color accuracy. The 1,100-nit peak brightness ensures the screen remains visible even in direct sunlight, while the 1000:1 contrast ratio provides deep blacks. The 10-bit (8+2 FRC) panel ensures smooth color gradients and precise reproduction, making it an essential tool for focus pullers and directors alike.
Versatile Connectivity and Cross-Conversion
The Portkeys HS8 offers a comprehensive range of I/O options, including 4K HDMI 60p and 3G-SDI inputs. It supports seamless cross-conversion between HDMI and SDI, allowing you to output signals in various formats to other monitors or wireless transmitters. Additionally, the monitor supports 3D LUT output via both HDMI and SDI, ensuring consistent look management across the entire monitoring chain.
Innovative Wireless Receiver Integration
What truly distinguishes the HS8 is its patented removable and rotatable Sony NP-F dummy battery plate. This 8V/10W power passthrough allows you to mount and power a wireless video receiver directly on the back of the monitor. The 360-degree rotation capability ensures you can position your receiver for optimal signal reception without needing extra cables or mounting hardware.
Comprehensive Suite of Monitoring Tools
Take full control of your image with a professional toolkit accessible via a custom-made operating system. The HS8 includes:
- Exposure Tools: RGB and Luma Waveform, Histogram, and Zebra.
