The RED V-RAPTOR [X] RF Mount is an 8K VV digital cinema camera system built around a 35.4MP global shutter CMOS sensor. It combines large-format image capture, high frame rates and RED’s latest global shutter technology in a compact camera body.
The camera captures 8192 x 4320 effective pixels on a 40.96 x 21.60mm sensor and delivers 17+ stops of dynamic range. This makes it suitable for high-end cinema, commercial, virtual production, live production and demanding HDR workflows.
V-RAPTOR [X] supports REDCODE RAW recording with data rates up to 800MB/s using qualified CFexpress Type B media. Frame rates include up to 120fps at 8K 17:9, 150fps at 8K 2.4:1 and up to 600fps at 2K 2.4:1, because apparently normal motion was too emotionally stable.
RED Global Vision expands the camera’s creative and technical capabilities. Extended Highlights helps retain more detail and colour in extreme highlight conditions, while Phantom Track is designed for virtual production workflows using GhostFrame or frame remapping.
The integrated locking RF-style mount supports flexible lens use, including RED RF to PL adapters, Canon EF adapters and other RF-based options. Phase detect autofocus with face detection is also supported for compatible setups.
For monitoring and production integration, the camera includes dual 12G-SDI outputs, a proprietary top accessory port, wireless live preview and wired or wireless camera control. IP-connected workflows support Frame.io, Amazon S3, RED Connect and remote camera operation via USB-C, Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
The camera body is made from aluminum alloy and weighs approximately 1.83kg without body cap or media. It records to CFexpress Type B cards and uses an integrated V-Lock battery interface optimized for Micro V-Lock batteries.
The Production Pack provides a more complete professional setup. It includes the V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV RF Mount Camera System, DSMC3 RED Touch 7-inch LCD, two RED PRO CFexpress v4 Type B 2TB cards, card reader, V-Lock batteries, dual charger, Tactical Top Plate with Battery Adapter Plus, top handle with extensions, Expander Blade, Quick Release Platform Pack, dual XLR adapter, production grips, side ribs and production plates.
Power cords are not included for the camera or charger and must be purchased separately.
