The Sony UHC-8300 is a flagship 8K camera system designed to meet the rigorous demands of Ultra HD broadcasting. Featuring the world’s first 1.25-type 8K 3CMOS sensor, this system captures stunning 7680x4320 images at high speeds of up to 120p. With a signal-to-noise ratio of -62dB and a newly developed F1.6 prism system, it delivers unprecedented clarity and supports the wide BT.2020 color space for lifelike realism.
Seamless Multi-Format Production
Maximize your production value by generating 8K, 4K, and HD signals simultaneously. The UHC-8300 allows for real-time 4K cutouts from 8K footage, enabling precise focus monitoring without image degradation. Broadcasters can leverage Sony’s SR Live workflow to output HDR (S-Log3, HLG) and SDR signals concurrently, ensuring compatibility with both legacy displays and the latest 4K HDR televisions.
Future-Ready IP and SDI Connectivity
The UHC-8300 system is built for modern workflows, connecting the 7kg camera head to the UHCU-8300 Camera Control Unit via SMPTE fiber. It supports octal 12G-SDI for 8K 120p baseband signals and offers robust IP integration. Options include the UKCU-8001 for ST 2110 interfaces and the UKCU-IP01F for Networked Media Interface (NMI), managed via the Sony IP Live System Manager.
Versatile Lens Mount and System Compatibility
Equipped with a dedicated 1.25-type lens mount, the UHC-8300 is compatible with specialized 8K lenses. For added flexibility, a B4 mount adapter allows the use of existing 4K lenses. The system integrates seamlessly with current Sony live production infrastructure, including remote controllers, multi-camera units, and viewfinders, protecting your existing investments.
