The Sony HDC-5500V features a pre-installed variable ND filter, enabling seamless exposure adjustments without the disruption of physical filter switching. This system supports high frame rate (HFR) capture and allows operators to switch between deep and shallow depth of field instantly, making it an ideal solution for live sports and high-stakes broadcast environments.

Ergonomic Viewfinder Slide Mechanism

Designed for tight spaces such as stadium platforms and tracked dollies, the integrated viewfinder slide mechanism minimizes body movement during panning. By moving the viewfinder closer to the axis of tripod rotation, operators maintain a consistent viewing angle and improved functionality in cramped shooting locations.

High Frame Rate and Multi-Ad Support

When paired with the HDCU-5000, this camera supports 4K 4x HFR for stunning slow-motion replay. It also facilitates parallel advertisement technology, capturing up to four different LED advertisements simultaneously to reach diverse global audiences with localized content. Note: 4K 4x HFR is not available on IP.

Streamlined Control and IP Integration

• Virtual IRIS: Manage brightness through a single joystick, controlling lens IRIS, variable ND, and master GAIN through an intuitive interface.
• Unified Intercom: Standardized panel layout featuring controllable PGM3, TRACKER VR, and earphone MIC for consistent operation across all models.
• IP Remote Production: Utilize the optional HDCE-TX50 adaptor for direct ST 2110 output, bypassing the need for a separate CCU and supporting JPEG XS.
• Real-time Recording: With the HKCU-REC55 option, record live feeds directly within the CCU and transfer files to USB SSD or network storage in real-time.

The HDC-5500V also features high-speed data transmission via the networked TRUNK LAN port and includes an Optical Low Pass filter as standard.
