Sony UWP-D21 UWP-D Bodypack Wireless Microphone Package (42CE: 638 - 694 MHz) product description
Professional Audio for High-Resolution Video
The Sony UWP-D21 is a versatile wireless microphone package designed for content creators, videographers, and journalists. Operating in the 42CE frequency range (638 to 694 MHz), this system combines advanced digital audio processing with reliable RF transmission to deliver broadcast-quality sound for ENG, EFP, and documentary production.
Advanced Digital Audio Processing
Experience sparkling sound quality with improved transient response. Sony's digital audio processing technology reproduces rapid sounds with precision. When used with the SMAD-P5 Multi-Interface (MI) shoe adaptor and compatible Sony XDCAM camcorders, the system enables direct digital recording, bypassing A/D and D/A conversion stages for ultra-low noise performance.
Fast and Easy NFC SYNC
Setting up frequencies is effortless with the unique NFC SYNC function. By holding the NFC SYNC button on the URX-P40 receiver, it automatically scans for the best frequency. Simply touch the receiver to the UTX-B40 transmitter to sync the channel instantly, allowing you to focus on your subject rather than technical settings.
Stable True Diversity Reception
To ensure signal stability, the UWP-D series utilizes a true diversity reception system. Two independent antennas compare incoming RF signals and automatically select the strongest one, significantly reducing the risk of dropouts even in challenging environments.
Compact and Lightweight Design
The UTX-B40 bodypack transmitter is approximately 20% smaller than previous models, making it ideal for mobile applications. The compact URX-P40 receiver fits perfectly on small camcorders and interchangeable lens digital cameras, maintaining a low profile for handheld or gimbal use.
Smart Volume Control and Power Options
The system includes an Auto Gain mode that prevents distortion by boosting volume while using a limiter. For distant subjects, a +15 dB volume boost is available. Powering is flexible, supporting AA batteries, USB power banks for long-term operation, or 48V phantom power via the UTX-P40 plug-on transmitter.
