Developed in close collaboration with ARRI, the Tiffen Night Fog 1/4 Rear Mount Filter brings legendary diffusion to the Signature Prime and Zoom lens family. This specialized filter integrates seamlessly into the lens's native rear mount, offering filmmakers a streamlined way to control contrast and atmospheric glow without the bulk of traditional front-mounted systems.

Instant Magnetic Installation

The innovative rear-mount system utilizes an integral ring of 12 high-power magnets. This allows for tool-free installation and instant changeability on set. Because the filter attaches directly to the Magnetic Rear Filter Holder of the Signature lenses, there is no need for technical modifications or specialized tools. This design also reduces overall camera weight by minimizing the reliance on heavy matte boxes.

Uniform Strength Across Focal Lengths

One of the primary advantages of the rear-mount system is the consistency of the diffusion effect. Unlike front-mounted filters, where wider focal lengths often require heavier grades, the Tiffen Rear Mount Filter maintains the same 1/4 strength regardless of how wide or tight the shot is. This allows cinematographers to set a consistent look for an entire lens set using a single filter grade.
