The Wooden Camera D-Box (RED DSMC2, V-Mount) is a sophisticated power distribution solution designed specifically for the RED DSMC2 ecosystem. Compatible with Monstro, Helium, Gemini, Weapon, Epic-W, Scarlet-W, and Raven, this module provides standardized remote start/stop and hot-swap capabilities. The tool-less design utilizes a cable-less interface that mounts directly to the camera body or expander modules like the Teradek O-Mods.
Comprehensive Connectivity Options
Engineered to eliminate cable collisions, the D-Box features a contoured design that matches the RED Expander Module. It offers a wide array of outputs to power your entire rig:
- 2x 2pin LEMO (12V): Industry-standard power for monitors and wireless transmitters.
- 2x 3pin Fischer (24V): Includes R/S functionality for ARRI-standard start/stop triggers.
- 4x D-Tap (12V): High-capacity power for various cinema accessories.
- 1x USB: Convenient 5V power for mobile devices or small accessories.
Intelligent Power Management and Safety
The D-Box prioritizes camera uptime. With its dual-input design, the system defaults to DC input when available, allowing you to swap V-Mount batteries without losing power. The integrated LED indicator provides instant visual feedback: green for healthy voltage (above 12.5V), orange for mid-range, and red for low battery (below 12V).
Safety is handled by a processor-controlled amp limit rather than traditional fuses. Users can set the limit to 3.8, 5.8, or 9 amps via a physical switch. If the limit is exceeded, only the accessory ports are disabled, ensuring the camera continues to record safely. A simple reset button restores accessory power once the load is reduced.
