Professional 15mm Rod Support and Quick Release System
The Wooden Camera Unified Baseplate is a versatile quick release solution designed for the Sony FS5, Panasonic EVA1, VariCam LT, and VariCam 35. It provides lightweight 15mm rod support at the industry-standard lens height, ensuring your matte box and follow focus align perfectly. The 15mm rods pass through from front to back and are secured by two locking thumbscrews on each side.
Dual Quick Release Functionality
This baseplate offers two distinct quick release methods for maximum flexibility on set. To remove the camera while leaving the 15mm rods attached to your rig, simply unlock the right thumbscrew and slide the camera back. The upper dovetail features an ARCA Swiss standard shape, making it compatible with various third-party accessories and gimbals via its 1/4-20 threaded holes.
Alternatively, to take the 15mm rods with you, unlock the left thumbscrew and slide the entire baseplate off the Lower Quick Dovetail. This reveals an integrated ARRI dovetail slot on the bottom, allowing for direct attachment to 2060 Dovetails, Safety Dovetails, or shoulder rigs.
Advanced Mounting and Lens Support
The Unified Baseplate includes a vertical 15mm rod opening on the upper dovetail, ideal for supporting lens adapter feet like the Metabones Canon EF adapter on a Sony FS5. For shoulder-mounted configurations, it can be paired with the Unified VCT Wedge Plate for VCT-14 tripod compatibility and easy counterbalancing.
