FX2: Full-frame Cinema and Photography in One

The FX2 features a full-frame sensor with beautiful bokeh, a 33 MP Exmor R™ sensor, and up to 15+ stops of dynamic range via S-Log3, allowing you to capture many details in both light and dark areas.

Thanks to Dual Base ISO (800 and 4000), the FX2 delivers optimal image quality in various lighting conditions. The ISO for video can be expanded to 102400, making it ideal for low light. The camera supports various recording formats, including 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra and XAVC S-I DCI 4K at 24p, for flexible post-production.

According to cinematographer Simone Sadocco, the dual base ISO provides “clean, noise-free images at both settings, with a smooth transition.”

Long-lasting and Flexible Recording

Thanks to internal cooling, the FX2 can record continuously in 4K 60p for up to 13 hours. Slow motion up to 2.5x (60 fps in 4K) and 5x (120 fps in Full HD) is possible. Cine EI, EI Quick, and Flexible ISO provide workflows for any production, while you can import up to 16 LUTs for color monitoring on set.

The camera features S-Cinetone™ as standard and various Picture Profile and Creative Look presets. The desqueeze display function supports 1.3x and 2.0x anamorphic lenses.

Compact and Ready for Solo Operation

The FX2 has the same compact, flat design as the FX3 and FX30, with built-in mounting options for a cageless setup and an optional handle for flexibility during handheld shooting. The camera weighs only 679 grams, making it ideal for solo operators or small crews.

Advanced autofocus with Real-time Recognition AF recognizes people, animals, vehicles, and more, with focus breathing compensation and adjustable transitions. Active Mode and Dynamic Active Mode ensure stable handheld footage.

Convenient Features for Framing and Photography

The Auto Framing function automatically keeps the subject in view during tripod shots, while the Framing Stabilizer keeps the subject in position during movement. The FX2 can also shoot 33MP photos with a special ‘Log shooting’ mode for color correction in post.

Enhanced Hardware and Connectivity

The FX2 features a new 3.68M-dot tiltable EVF and a 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen. The controls are logically placed with tally lights and a customizable BIG6 home screen. The camera supports vertical display for social content and offers professional audio inputs via XLR/TRS and 3.5mm jack.

In terms of connectivity, the FX2 offers HDMI output up to 4K 60p, dual-band Wi-Fi, wired LAN (via adapter), USB-C with fast transfer, and streaming capabilities for live and remote workflows.
