Filmic EZ16 (24MP) product description
Professional Film Digitization
The Filmic EZ16 (24MP) is a high-performance desktop film scanner designed for archival-grade digitization of 8mm and 16mm motion picture film. Equipped with a 24-megapixel camera module, it captures 80MB 10-bit color photographs of every frame, ensuring maximum detail retention in BMP or DPX formats.
Advanced Imaging and Output
The EZ16 provides three distinct output views: Movie (active image area), Inspection (edge-to-edge), and Full (camera sensor view). It supports a wide range of workprint resolutions from 640x480 up to 4096x3112. Supported formats include ProRes.mov, h264, h265, and ffv1.mkv, providing maximum flexibility for modern post-production workflows.
Safe Film Handling
Designed for delicate and historical media, the EZ16 features a sprocket-less transport system. Using algorithm-controlled torque motors, the unit remains independent of film dimensions, meaning film shrinkage no longer impacts the digitization process. Users can select from three winding tensions:
- 50g: Optimized for distressed films and long-term storage.
- 200g: Suitable for standard projects.
- 350g: Ideal for preparing films for shipping.
