Filmic EZ16 (5MP) product description
Professional Film Digitization
The Filmic EZ16 (5MP) is a high-performance desktop solution designed for professional-grade film scanning. Featuring a 5-megapixel camera module, it captures 15MB 8-bit color photographs of every frame, ensuring archival quality for 8mm and 16mm film stocks. The system is optimized for portability, consisting of a 38 lb scanner unit and a 26 lb Dell 3930 Server, allowing for flexible setup in various environments.
Advanced Transport and Safety
Equipped with a sprocket-less, algorithm-controlled transport system, the EZ16 handles delicate media with precision. Three selectable winding tensions (50g, 200g, and 350g) provide the necessary care for everything from distressed archival footage to films prepared for shipping. Because the transport is independent of film dimensions, it offers exceptional tolerance for film shrinkage.
Versatile Output and Audio
The EZ16 provides multiple viewing modes, including active image area, edge-to-edge inspection, and full camera views. It supports a wide range of workprint resolutions up to 4096x3112 and formats including ProRes.mov, h265.mp4, and ffv1.mkv. Audio is captured in a single pass via the optical channel or an optional magnetic audio head.
