Wooden Camera UMB-1 Universal Mattebox (Pro)

The Wooden Camera UMB-1 Universal Mattebox (Pro) is a professional-grade, modular light control system designed to adapt to any shooting environment. Natively 15mm LW rod-based, this mattebox is engineered for speed and versatility, allowing cinematographers to transition seamlessly between swing-away, clamp-on, and ultralight configurations for stabilizer use.

Versatile Filtration and Mounting

The UMB-1 comes standard with two rotating 4x5.65 filter stages, featuring individual tray catchers to ensure security during fast-paced productions. For expanded needs, an optional third stage is available. The unit includes NATO standard accessory rails on the left, right, and top, providing robust mounting points for monitors, wireless transmitters, and other essential gear.

Comprehensive Light Control

Achieve total control over lens flares with the included folding French flag, left and right side flags, and a bottom flag. The system features a 143mm native diameter opening and includes ARRI-style rubber bellows with a 114mm standard opening. A universal cloth donut is provided for non-standard lens diameters, ensuring a light-tight seal regardless of your glass choice.

Technical Compatibility

• Rod Support: Natively 15mm LW; adaptable to 15mm Studio and 19mm via optional adapters.
• Reduction Rings: Includes a complete set of bellows reduction rings with specially designed tabs for compatibility with 3rd party 114mm threaded bellows.
• Adjustment: Features a height-adjustable swing-away bracket for precise alignment with various lens heights.
• Clamp-On Support: Includes a full set of clamp-on adapter rings for direct lens mounting.

Note: This kit ships in a box with custom-cut foam. The foam can be removed and installed into a Pelican 1550 hard case (sold separately).
