The Angenieux Optimo Ultra Compact 37-102mm FF represents the second generation of legendary lightweight lenses. Replacing the industry-standard Optimo 15-40 and 28-76 lenses, this new series is purpose-built for Full Frame and VistaVision formats. It serves as the ideal companion to the Optimo Ultra 12X and Optimo Prime Series, offering the iconic Angenieux look in a highly portable form factor.

Advanced Optical Performance

Featuring a completely new optical design, the 37-102mm provides superb image quality starting at a T2.9 open aperture. The lens maintains a perfect balance between contrast and resolution, delivering an appealing cinematic look with minimal distortion.

• Technical Precision: No ramping and minimal breathing for a 2.7x zoom ratio.
• Close Focus: A minimum focus distance of 2ft (0.6m) allows for extreme close-up shots.

Rugged and Ergonomic Mechanical Design

The mechanical architecture has been entirely redesigned to be more compact (235mm) and lightweight (2.6kg). It utilizes the classic Angenieux rod mechanical guiding system for precise and rugged travel of zoom and focus groups.

• Focus Control: Ergonomic focus ring with 310 degree scale rotation and user-optimized markings.
• Interchangeable Scales: Focus marking rings can be swapped between feet and metric.
• Environmental Protection: Passive athermalization allows operation from -20 degrees C to +45 degrees C.
• Compatibility: Designed for use with ARRI FF4 and FF5 Follow-Focus (requires ARRI FF Gear 0.8 Module, 43 Tooth, 45mm K2.0020752).

Multiple Image Format and Metadata

The Optimo Ultra Compact is IRO (Interchangeable Rear Optics) ready and currently optimized for FF/VV formats. It includes a Cooke Metadata external connector, facilitating the transfer of lens data to external drives or display units for streamlined post-production workflows.
