Angenieux Optimo Ultra Compact Wide Angle 21-56mm Full Pack Feet Scale product description
The Next Generation of Angenieux Wide-Angle Zooms
The Angenieux Optimo Ultra Compact 21-56mm represents the second generation of lightweight Optimo lenses. Replacing the industry-standard 15-40mm and 28-76mm lenses, this Full Pack version is designed to meet the demands of modern Full Frame and VistaVision cinematography while maintaining the iconic Angenieux look.
Advanced Optical Engineering
This lens features a completely new optical design that ensures superb image quality from a wide-open T2.9 aperture. It delivers a well-controlled balance between contrast and resolution, providing the appealing cinematic aesthetic that Directors of Photography have trusted for decades. With minimal breathing, no ramping, and a 2.7x zoom ratio, it offers consistent performance across the entire focal range.
- Close Focus: Achieve extreme close-ups with a minimum focus distance of 2ft (0.6m).
- Optical Homogeneity: Perfect consistency in color, contrast, and resolution with low distortion.
- Internal Mechanics: Constant lens volume thanks to internal focus and zoom systems.
Rugged and Lightweight Mechanical Design
Weighing only 2.6kg (6lbs) and measuring 235mm in length, the Optimo Ultra Compact is among the lightest high-end lenses on the market. The precise mechanical guiding system ensures smooth operation of zoom and focus groups, even in extreme environments ranging from -20°C to +45°C.
- Focus Precision: Ergonomic focus ring with 310° scale rotation and user-optimized markings.
- Interchangeable Scales: This model features a feet scale, with user-changeable rings available.
- Compatibility: PL mount native; compatible with ARRI FF4 & FF5 Follow-Focus (please use ARRI FF Gear 0.8 Module, 43 Tooth, 45mm K2.0020752).
Multiple Image Format Design (IRO Technology)
The Full Pack version includes components for both FF/VV and U35 coverage, powered by Angenieux's Interchangeable Rear Optics (IRO) technology. It also features an external connector for Cooke Metadata transfer, ensuring all lens data is captured for post-production and VFX workflows.
