The Sony VENICE 2 features a high-performance 36x24mm full-frame image sensor designed specifically for the rigors of high-end production. The 6K sensor offers a maximum resolution of 6048 x 4032, providing powerful oversampling for incredible 4K images. Because the sensor blocks are interchangeable, users can easily switch between the 8K and 6K sensors without additional firmware, or even use the sensor from the original VENICE.

Phenomenal Latitude and Color Rendition

With 15+ stops of latitude, the VENICE 2 6K sensor delivers stunning images with minimal noise across extreme lighting conditions. It exceeds the BT.2020 color space, offering a range wider than DCI-P3. This ensures faithful reproduction of scenes and provides a broad palette for grading using Sony’s S-Log3 and S-Gamut3 workflows.

Dual Base ISO for Low-Light Excellence

The 6K sensor features Dual Base ISO 500 and 2500. High Base ISO 2500 excels in low-light environments, offering an exposure latitude from 6 stops over to 9 stops under 18% Middle Gray. This allows cinematographers to maintain clean, high-dynamic-range imagery even in challenging locations.

Internal 16-bit X-OCN and ProRes Recording

The VENICE 2 chassis enables internal 16-bit X-OCN recording and 4K ProRes 4444/422 HQ without the need for an external recorder. This compact design simplifies setups for gimbals, Steadicams, and drones, while preserving the full dynamic range and color reproduction of the sensor.
