The Sony VENICE Extension System 2 (CBK-3620XS), also known as the Rialto 2, is a next-generation tethering solution designed to decouple the image sensor from the camera body. Developed alongside the VENICE 2, this system allows cinematographers to capture high-end imagery in confined spaces, on gimbals, or in handheld configurations without compromising on full-frame quality.

Enhanced 8K Bandwidth and Extended Range

Engineered for the demands of modern production, the Extension System 2 supports the high bandwidth required for the VENICE 2 8K sensor. Unlike its predecessor, it offers a transmission distance of up to 12 meters without the need for a repeater box. This increased range provides unparalleled freedom when operating on cranes, jibs, or complex vehicle rigs.

Compact Design and Ergonomic Control

The separated camera head is remarkably lightweight, weighing approximately 2.2 kg with a PL mount. This small footprint enables DoPs to use cinematic glass in locations previously inaccessible to full-frame cameras. For improved on-set efficiency, the head features four assignable buttons for quick access to ND filter settings and recording triggers.

Advanced Metadata and Integration

Equipped with a built-in tilt and roll sensor, the CBK-3620XS provides real-time spirit level data and records movement metadata essential for VFX workflows. The system also includes an HD-SDI output and a 24V DC output to power essential accessories like lens motors and monitors directly from the camera head.
